We are looking for a
Director of Strategic Shipping Partnerships
based in our German office in Dreilinden, Germany, to join the EU Strategic Carrier relationship and Global Shipping platform team, to manage the German eBay efforts around shipping, logistics and overall delivery experience to drive key strategic goals and tactical measures including GMV, NPS (Net Promoter Score) and operating profit. The role encompasses general management, project management, product marketing, business development and the strategic interface with major shipping and logistics partners.
This role will be responsible for negotiating contract with, and the operational management of, major shipping partners. The Director of Strategic Shipping Partnerships will manage the contract negotiation cost structure with existing and new shipping partners and manage the shipping partner performance and execute against key activities and joint shipping initiatives which include the launch of new shipping product offerings, streamlining existing shipping product offerings, marketing campaign management, and reporting.
The role will be the go to person for the European Leadership Team on shipping and delivery experience matters in Germany.
Responsibilities:
Quickly understand the key initiatives in play and work with the shipping team and key partners (Seller Marketing, Sales, Product, etc.) to ensure their successful delivery.
Identify future growth strategies to lower shipping costs, drive on-eBay shipping platform adoption, and improve customer experience.
Identify incremental opportunities to drive EU shipping goals - drive for innovative solutions we can execute with minimal effort.
Contributing to the continued development of and actively managing our various shipping partner platforms.
Interfacing with internal teams to ensure goals are coordinated and partner expectations are met or exceeded.
Manage the budget and all expenses associated with the Shipping and Logistics business unit in coordination with Finance.
Requirements:
Knowledge of German Market and fluent German language skills are a must.
Several years direct experience managing carrier partner relationships and processes in an online industry or have worked for a carrier.
Experienced in developing required business relationships with a 'deal making' track record.
Strong legal contracting, negotiations, executive presentation, and financial analysis skills as well as strong process design / improvement skills (e.g. Lean).
Bachelor's degree required.
Ability to travel (estimated 1 US trip/quarter).
